Olebogeng was elected to the role of SAACHS National Secretary at the 2026 Annual General Meeting.
Olebogeng (Lebo) Moshwene is a Nurse Practitioner at the University of Johannesburg’s Centre for Student Health and Wellness (C-SHAW), based at the Auckland Park Campus. He has six years’ experience within the University, including prior leadership of the Doornfontein Campus health team. Mr Moshwene holds a Postgraduate Diploma in TB and HIV Management from the University of Cape Town, alongside advanced diplomas in Clinical Nursing Science and Health Evaluation from Chris Hani Baragwanath Nursing College. He is currently completing a Master’s degree in Community Nursing Science (Primary Health Care) at the University of Johannesburg. His professional background spans hospital, clinic, and community health settings, including Leratong Hospital and multiple City of Johannesburg clinics. He serves as Secretary General of the South African Association of Campus Health Services (Gauteng Region) and is actively involved in community education initiatives, including programmes that support children’s artistic development.

This presentation examines levels of knowledge about sexually transmitted infections (STIs) among first-year undergraduate students. It focuses on a cohort at elevated risk due to the transition into university life, increased independence, and exposure to new social and sexual networks, highlighting implications for targeted health education and campus-based interventions.
